Georges des Moulins de la Queustiere married Marguerite de Chauvigny in 1618 and the first clear mention of the Chateau de l'Isle domaine is within the partgage document between Marguerite de Chauvigny and her sister Madeleine.
Georeges des Moulins was Master of Water & Forests and Bailiff of the Bailiage and Duchy of Alencon charged with respression of the revolt of Nu-Pieds in 1640.

Important works to the Chateau in the year 1730 in the new, now current, emplacement.
Around 1760 the old chateau was decnstructed except the two towers which are now the pigonnier and chapelle.
Married with Suzanne RAgaine in 1758 and then Elisabeth Brunet in 1784 but died without decentants.
L'Isle then passed to his brother Aime Louis.

Marguerite de Launay D'Esterville 1756 - 1815, daughter of Paul ad Louise de Moulins, married to Jacques Le Forestier de Vendeuvre (Maire de CAen 1781 - 1791)
The chateau was inherited by their daughter Comtesse Charlotte le Forestier de Vendeuvre (1788 - 1875) wife to Louis Le Forestier d'Osseville.
The chateau was sold to the Lecointre family in 1819.

A negotiator and banker in Alencon, married to Justine Minoret, the daughter of an important banker from Poitiers

19th March 1860 it is passed to Jean-Baptiste Arsene Lecointre one of their two sons who was married to Anne Dauvilliers 1801 - 1883
23rd March 1860 they gave L'Isle to their son Eugene Lecointre
Eugene Lecointre 1826 - 1902, his wide Henriette Levain 1837 - 1910
Eugene Lecointre was Maire of Alencon 1868 - 1871 and is celebrated for holding his head against the Prussians during their invasion in January 1871
He was made Conseiller general 1874 - 1880
Eugene Lecointre was a passionate historian and archaeologist and is responsible for much of the remodelling of the chateau, including the Biblioteque
He was generous with the community (ecole libre de filles 1867) and the parish of Saint-Gemain , where he was engaged with the restoration of the church with the Abbe Garnier - chemin de croix and stained glass vindows.

Pursued the oeuvre of his fathers work in his patronage of the community and the parish
He was responsible for pursuing the rearrangement of much of the chateau from 1911 with the building including the basement, the ground floor and terrace with x by x openings and the park, employing the architect Legrand from Paris.
Christiane Lecointre 1908 - 1994 married Francois d'Oilliamson 1896 - 1970
1939 L'Isle became a hospital annex, receiving old men, 8 June 1944 as a medical hospital, 25 Maternity Hospital, 17 July Maternity hospital and others
Marquis d'Oilliamson was Maire April - Octber 1944 and received 2,000 refugees
1974 sold to M. de Cairon
2003 sold to M. Innes Williams
